Spent the first half of the long weekend in Portland – eating as much as I possibly could and drinking close to the same. It was the first time I could look the border guard square in the eye and tell her I was bringing back $0 worth of goods. This whole moving budget thing has really thrown me for a loop. I even passed on a J. Crew sample sale. Who is this woman? I have no idea. Absolutely none. Late dinners, king size hotel beds, sunset walks along the riverside & overpriced in-suite movies made for the perfect mini holiday.
This week, I am thankful for: bookshelves that stretch on for miles, the grace to listen to strangers stories, the courage to venture alone, rain that smells like summer, long drives with great music, unconnecting myself from my POS cell phone, international Skype dates, happy hour, soup in pajamas & horrible reality television, great fiction & better non-fiction, supportive friends, lazy sundays and bankers boxes (what a packing lifesaver…)
Manifestation: Time is of the essence, so remember the 80/20 rule. Google Vilfredo Pareto if you’re unsure where to go with this. In fact, google him anyways – 80/20 always needs revisiting. Work towards your desired outcome and not towards the immediate gratifications. Work hard and remember why you’re doing so. You will focus on the positive with no exceptions and remember, with every breath you take, that you are magnificent.
