From loud mistakes to quiet changes, from a shift in priorities to ignoring priorities completely, from hitting the books to signing on the dotted line, 2011 has been nothing like what I pictured it to be. Somewhat overwhelming and a complete whirlwind I find myself looking back on broken hearts, crazy adventures, new friendships and wonderful, ridiculous, outrageous ideas.
I can assure you, the majority of them have been horrible ones & I can assure you that the majority of them have not worked out whatsoever, but I can also say that 2011 has been one of those pivotal “manifest” years. While it may not be possible to wake up with a Bentley in the driveway, it’s certainly possible to wake up with your head at the foot of your bed ready to take on the world as a completely different person.
I ripped a lot of sticky band aid’s off and lost a lot of games. But all in all, two thousand and eleven brought me some incredible wins. Incredible new friends and powerful advice have come in great quantities. My ability to step back and just relax has reached the previously impossible level of kind of. And my passion for dreaming and wishing and hoping and leaping has only continued to grow.
Sometimes it’s important to take the time to step back and work with what you’ve been dealt. To settle in, momentarily, to your life and really get a gooey feel as to what it’s made of, before uprooting and moving on. And after an entire year of having a great time getting my hands messy while standing still, I’ve realized that I have actually taken a giant step forward without noticing it.
2011 was a year chalk full of trusting myself to the most extreme degree & with that has come the ability to see myself through all the even-more insane plans I have for 2012.
Without further ado, I leave you to enjoy the remainder of 2011 with your favorite people and your favorite drinks. I’ll be getting on a plane tomorrow to head to New York City (!!!) to complete a fantastic triangle of ladies that cause nothing but trouble together (picture #6, above). Late dinners, cheap champagne, breakfast at Tiffany’s & New Years Eve with the best of them.
I’ll be back on January 7th, so apart from the mandatory Resolutions post, you won’t be hearing from me for a bit. But don’t fret: the longer I play, the better the stories get. Two thousand twelve here we go, here we go!
P.S* If you get curious, you can always check out my Tumblr (which acts as my semi-public diary/daily inspiration board) or my Instagram (search byAndriaParker). I’ll most likely be updating these like crazy.
P.P.S* If you get bored one day, you can check out the new page I created called “2012 Mood Board”. It’s up there by “Oh, Hello!”. Just a smorgasbord of inspiration to keep me focused on how MAJOR 2012 is going to be! From theme songs to must watch movies to the books that bring me back every time I’m lost, I’m sure you’ll find something you can use to start creating your own =)
